KRS-1 interviewed by Alex Jones

..."They put a black face on the New World Order, and now we're all happy - KRS ain't buying it."...

...in this special extended feature, hip hop legend KRS-One, who has also lectured at Harvard and Yale, discusses what the election of Barack Obama means for America and warns that once the emotion of the event is put aside, black people and the country in general may be hugely disappointed by the "change" that will be offered, in that it will be nothing more than a continuation of the same globalist policies which ravaged the Constitution under Bush...

23 Skidoo - Julian Biggs (1964)

...GOOD NEWS, GOOD NEWS, the National Film Board of Canada are archiving media from the 20's to the present, all available to watch or buy on a tasty website HERE, meanwhile, couldn't resist this intriguing short from 1964...

...This short black-and-white film shows eerie scenes of a downtown without people. The effect is disturbing. The camera shoots familiar urban scenes, without a soul in sight: streets empty, buildings empty, yet everywhere there is evidence of recent life and activity. At the end of the film we learn what has happened...

...the U.S. also have a ever increasing archive HERE...

Metallica - Some Kind of Monster (2004)

...now remember kiddies, Spinal Tap are a comedic invention, whereas Metallica are a REAL band, now enter the sadmen...
...Some Kind of Monster is a 2004 American documentary film featuring the heavy metal band Metallica. It shares its name with a song from Metallica's 2003 album St. Anger.

What began as a simple documentary of the making of St. Anger turned into a much more personal exploration of the band's relationships with each other, and struggles with the creative process.

The documentary shows many studio rehearsals and fragments of concert footage. It won the Independent Spirit Award for Best Documentary Feature.

The DVD release was handled by Paramount Pictures, whose 2000 film Mission: Impossible II features a song by Metallica...

...and it is VERY funny...

...Spinal Tap is a semi-fictional heavy metal band, the subject of the 1984 rockumentary/mockumentary film This Is Spinal Tap. The band members are portrayed by Michael McKean (as David St. Hubbins), Christopher Guest (as Nigel Tufnel) and Harry Shearer (as Derek Smalls). They first appeared in a 1978 ABC comedy special, The TV Show. Ultimate Mash - ThruYOU

...this really is special, all hail kutiman...

...After seeing ThruYOU yesterday, Lawrence Lessig, the author of “Remix,” the bible of the free-culture generation, wrote: “Watch this, and you’ll understand everything and more than what I try to explain in my book.”...

...What ThruYOU tells us is that all bets are off. The DNA of our media system has mutated so completely that it’s only a matter of time before our society changes as well.

In fact, that change is already happening.

In politics, economics, arts and culture, an era of privileged access is giving way to something that’s much more decentralized, participatory and personal.

...FAME at last!!! BANNED by YouTube!!!...

...UPDATE!!! can't watch it here no more, but you can still see it here...

...shirley this constitutes fair use of a logo in a political satire?!? or is that out now? nevermind the heavy use of the film Vanishing Point, or the splice of The Beatles, or the myriad of other audio/visual samples used and abused but perfectly fine (at this point), just the fairly unbalanced Fox lashing out again etc etc...at this point we had to send mungo out to calm down...
...you're no-one till you've been banned by youtube...

CUBA - beyond OIL

...check out enrique's cuban infomix comin' soon over on 'da filter, meanwhile, stay tuned for furthur information...

...When the Soviet Union collapsed in 1990, Cuba's economy went into a tailspin. With imports of oil cut by more than half – and food by 80 percent – people were desperate. This film tells of the hardships and struggles as well as the community and creativity of the Cuban people during this difficult time. Cubans share how they transitioned from a highly mechanized, industrial agricultural system to one using organic methods of farming and local, urban gardens. It is an unusual look into the Cuban culture during this economic crisis, which they call "The Special Period." The film opens with a short history of Peak Oil, a term for the time in our history when world oil production will reach its all-time peak and begin to decline forever. Cuba, the only country that has faced such a crisis – the massive reduction of fossil fuels – is an example of options and hope...
